Compassion Beyond Borders funds scholarships and schools for girls in Afghanistan, Guatemala, India, Kenya, Nepal, Mexico and Sri Lanka, and for Tibetan refugees in India. Co-ed schools are supported when they are the most effective means for educating impoverished girls.

CBB funds women's education centers in Afghanistan, India, and Nepal that also provide training in health care, women's rights, and micro-business skills. In Uganda, CBB supports health education for women and children, especially teen-aged girls.

Compassion Beyond Borders funds the education of indigenous peoples, refugees, orphans, squatters, battered women, the blind, minorities, Dalits ("untouchables") and other oppressed women and girls--the poorest of the poor. The schools, education centers and women's organizations that CBB finances become a resource to their community, transforming the lives not only of the women and girls, but of their families and neighborhoods as well.

CBB's average cost of educating an impoverished girl or illiterate woman is $50 annually. 100% of contributions to CBB go to educate women and children, since staff are volunteers and overhead costs are covered by private grants.
