Educating Impoverished Girls

Compassion Beyond Borders funds the education of poor and vulnerable girls in Kenya, Guatemala and India. Educating girls is the most cost-effective means for overcoming poverty in the developing world according to the United Nations, the World Bank and UNICEF. Nonetheless, sixty five million girls in the world are not in school.

There are many reasons why the education of girls is so crucial to achieving human development, including:

1. Today's girls are the world's future mothers. An educated woman will have fewer children, healthier children, and better educated children--both boys and girls. That's three ways poverty is reduced.

2. Educated girls and women contribute to the political, social and economic development of their community and their nation.

3. Uneducated girls and women are the world's most under-utilized economic resource, dollar for dollar the most productive investment possible in the developing world.

CBB partners with local grass-roots organizations that know the needs of their community and how to meet them. Members of CBB's Board of Directors visit these projects to ensure their accountability and proper development.

100% of contributions to CBB go to educating poor and vulnerable girls since overhead costs are funded by the Board of Directors. CBB is a federal 501(c)(3) organization, so donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
